Mustafa ERTÜRK / “Saying of the ‘Qur’anic Islam’: A critical Study of it in Aspect of the Nabawî Sunnah in a Historical Reality”

Abstract: In this article, it is discussed whether the saying of the ‘Qur’ânic Islam’ is scientifically worth or not in respect of the situtation of the Nabawî Sunnah (generally means the Prophet Muhammad’s acts) in a historical reality. In fact, this saying in the past was arised in a different forms, like ‘The Qur’ân is sufficent for us’ or ‘Returning to the Qur’ân’. Although it is connecting to historical issue, the saying of Qur’ânic Islam has been spread at modern time. If we look up at this point, it seems that the main target of this idea/saying is to constitute an Islamic view based on only the Qur’ânic Text, eliminating the Nabawi Sunnah. So, firstly it must be examined the position of the Prophet Muhammad and His sunnah in a historical reality. In addition, it is studied whether this sayin is consistent or not as a methodological aspects and its sources which are built on.
