Adem DÖLEK / Are the Microbes a Sort of Genies: Criticism of an Interpretation of a Hadith

Abstract: In some hadiths transmitted from Muhammed the Prophet of Islam, it has been stated that prodding of genies are cause of infectious disease. Some scholars as Muhammed Rashid Rida and Muhammed Gazzali have said in their interpretations that microbes are a sort of ge-nies. But, according to data of microbiology this opinion about that microbes are genies is not true. It is better to understand the relevant hadith in a metaphorical way.
