Yusuf Ziya KESKiN / Hunting and Hunting Rules According To Hadiths
Abstract: Given the verses of the Quran and the prophetic sayings, it is clear that hunting in the land and the sea is licit in Islam. There is a mention in the prophetic sayings of various as-pects of hunting such as the necessary qualification of the hunter, the conditions of hunting, the rules to be followed while hunting, the animals whose meat is licit and illicit, the hunting ani-mals and hunting weapons to be used. Hunting in the sea is another subject mentioned in the verses of the Quran and Prophetic sayings. Relying on the verdicts on this subject, Islamic scholars put forward different opinions about the question of the meat of which sea animals is licit and the meat of which dead animals in the sea is licit.
